Here are useful links discussed in the workshop...
The Point of Art Gallery and Studio (ThePointofArt.net):
My wife, Anne Jenkins' gallery, studio and location for some
ART BIZ workshops.
Anne's Art Website (AnneJenkinsArt.com): A great example of
what to put on your own website. Critical to business success !
The Arts Development Coucil of Georgia (ADCG.org):
A non-profit, art centric organization dedicated to helping over
200 artists develop their art as a business through relevant
education and business opportunities.
Events 2000 (events2000.com): Their slogan is "Around the South...Fairs,Festivals and Special Events Directory". A "must have"
for artists interested in showing at festivals/fairs/events.
This FREE on-line directory gives complete, accurate and timely information on most events/festivals in the South.
Artists in Georgia Website (ArtistsInGeorgia.com):
This is a FREE website for Georgia artists! Each artist builds/manages their own website on 5 pages with up to 10 images per page. Very user friendly. Launched in August 2007, there are over 200 artists on the site. A great place to start your first website.
Vista Print (VistaPrint.com): A wonderful source for inexpensive (sometimes FREE), high quality and reliable print based advertising material. You can get business cards, brochures, letterhead, envelops,
car and fridge magnets... and much more. It's a great resource.
Cafe Press (CafePress.com): A very reliable and professional source
of "complementary" products for your art. They produce, collect payment, ship and pay you for products imprinted with your art... you don't have
to do anything. Items available include calendars, polo shirts, coffee mugs, fridge magnets, aprons....the list goes on and on.
Best of all there is no minimum order amount !
Art Calendar (ArtCalendar.com): Their slogan, "The business magazine for visual artists", is absolutely accurate. A great source of information (and inspiration) for art related business issues written by and for artists. I subscribe to it and it is worth every penny.
The Crafts Report (CraftsReport.com): The three dimensional artist's version of "Art Calendar". Excellent information on business, shows and artists.
